In mid-July, I released my latest book, a biography entitled, An Improbable Life: The Story of Doreen Hope Leaf-Hund. Those local to the Northeast Ohio area may recognize her name as a local business owner. Although an integral part of that community for decades, many may not know the life story that brought her from a painful past to ownership of a successful, award-winning bridal boutique after years of creating custom dresses and doing vintage clothing restoration out of the basement of her home. This is her story – of pain and tragedy – but also perseverance and hope.
I began interviewing Doreen in December 2024, and I’m so grateful that what started as a project has evolved into true friendship. Doreen is a caring, talented, and beautiful person – I invite you to come to know her through the pages of her biography.
